Callistemon Viminalis tree description
Callistemon Viminalis (Weeping Bottlebrush) resembles Erect Bottlebrush. However, Viminalis has a rounded weeping rather than erect crown. Its crown is brittle, with drooping, low branches. Weeping Bottlebrush, is a small tree or shrub which reaches a height of 25 feet (7.62 m). Also, its green simple leaves are alternate, entire, and linear. The leaves measure 2 to 4 inches long. Its red showy flowers have stamens encircling branch stems to form a 3 to 5 by 1 inch long cylinder which looks like a bottlebrush. Also, bees, butterflies and hummingbirds are attracted to the flowers.
Furthermore, its fruits are borne as tight clusters on the stems. The round, hard, brown, small seed capsules measure less than .5 inches in diameter. For propagation purposes, use these seeds or cuttings. Callistemon Viminalis (Weeping Bottlebrush) grows well in a range of well-drained soils. Callistemon Viminalis is best cultivated in good soils with fertilizer application. The fertilizer will maximize the flower production. In addition, you can prune it into a tree or hedge.
